an afternoon at Audley Weir
Today we didn't really have plans. We had a loose idea that we would've like to something 'as a family', you know that whole 'we should really go out of the house and DO something'. Millie was really tired and cranky so fresh air was very much needed by all. After a false start at one cafe close to us we decided to take a drive (which coincided with a much needed sleep from Millie) to Audley Weir in the Royal National Park, just South of Sydney.
Set just near the Hacking River is the very lovely Audley Dancehall Cafe which has a huge grassed area perfect for the kidlets to run around. We had some drinks and lunch, then took a walk along the river where Millie terrorised all birds around her trying to given them a 'cuddle'.
Although it was freezing in Sydney the sunshine kept us (slightly) warmer and our unexpected day out turned out pretty great. And we are planning a return visit when the weather is warmer so we can hire a row boat!
