One of my instagram favourites has to be Little Pop Studios (@littlepopstudios). Not only does Bianca design the coolest artwork, clothing and homewares, but she is a mother of 3 littles under the age of 5! I have a few of her lovely pieces in my girls' rooms and love their simple cool style.
Her instagram account also gives us a glimpse to her gorgeous (and no doubt busy!) life. I recently asked Bianca about starting Little Pop Studios and what's next for her brand.
How did Little Pop Studios start, and what was your inspiration to start it?
I started Little Pop Studios when I did a painting of my girls in pop art style. My friends asked if I could paint their kids and encouraged me to start facebook and instagram pages. When I found out I was pregnant and it was going to be a boy I started collecting things for his room and did a few paintings for it, including Batboys and Geo Heart for my girls. I was asked if I could turn it into a print and then had the idea that it might be fun on pillowcases too. I had no idea things would end up where they are now!
What is the inspiration behind the name Little Pop Studios?
As it was just paintings of my (and my friends) little kids in pop art style, the name came from there.
What is the best thing about running your own business?
Connecting with so many other Mums in the same position as me, particularly through instagram.
And the hardest?
The late nights!
How do you juggle your family and the business?
I am at home with my 3 kids during the day. I have 3 under the age of 5 so it's very full on, all work has to wait until they are in bed. My husband has started helping me out at night too.
What is your proudest moment to date?
I think each time I am asked to send something to a celebrity. I get super excited about it every time!
Do you have a favourite product or is that like trying to select a favourite child?
Honestly, I couldn't tell you!
What's next for Little Pop Studios?
I can't thank all the mums out there enough for supporting my paintings, ideas and designs!
I am working on additions to my capsule collection. I want to be a little bit anti-fashion where popular designs continue to be remade, and evolve, and new things are added as and when I have time.
Outside of Little Pop Studios, what products or trends are you loving at the moment?
Scandi style, white, natural elements, blonde wood, mid century, vintage, trying to achieve a balanced mix of new and old.
