I love planning kids parties. Love it. Not so much the preparation and stress of holding said party. But I love the planning aspect.
This year Sophie is turning 5 (!) and with added kindy friends and an ever expanding number of kids in our family and friends circle, the days of home parties are dwindling. As each year goes by, Sophie wants to have more input in her party and themes. Last year was a unicorn themed disco party. This year she wants a 'my little pony with extra pegasus' party. Er, isn't that almost the same as the unicorn party? We've got a few months to hone the theme. Wish me luck!
I've decided to delve into my photo files to share some pics from parties we've held. Each party has special memories, and although as the hosts we are usually run off our feet, having our friends and family around to share in our girls' celebrations is something we treasure.
For Sophie's 3rd birthday we held a Peppa Pig themed celebration at my Mum's house in Cronulla. As Sophie is a boxing day baby, we usually schedule a party for her in mid-December (to try and secure maximum attendance by guests!) and although I was heavily pregnant (as evidenced) and exhausted but I was determined 'the show must go on'. I just put my swollen feet up after the party was over!
To set the theme I had Brooke from Piccolo Studio create some lovely invites and party favour tags. I also ordered some Peppa Pig themed spoons and water bottle labels from etsy as well as some crayon packs which we included in the party favour packs.
To keep the kids entertained, I hired a playgym and cubby house from Tiny Tots Toy Hire which was enormously successful. The kiddies then tucked in to the usual party fare and a Peppa Pig ice cream cake. Delicious!
