I can hardly believe easter has already been and gone! This year is just zipping past at such a rapid pace I kinda think its still January. Which obviously it isn't. As you've may picked up from previous blog posts, I am a huge fan of easter. Most of that is to do with all the family activities we always have over the easter weekend. We have cousins who come from Melbourne every year and it is always a blast. This year we also had our nephew's 6th birthday celebrations on Easter Sunday so all in all it was a huge fun filled weekend. That was full of chocolate. And eating. And chocolate.
Good Friday this year was a bit wet in Sydney but that didn't stop the girls having the first of their three (!) easter egg hunts for the weekend. My Mum ordered some of the amazing easter biscuits from Hello Naomi and some yummy cupcakes from Paper & Poppies (see below). Coupled with great company and plenty of delicious food it was the perfect way to kick off the long weekend.
After opening all the lovely gifts the EB brought the girls, we hosted an easter brunch at our place. Entertaining always brings out a lovely shade of stress on me, and although this function was a bit more relaxed than a full on party, I still had my usual meltdown (whoops!). It turned out to be a wonderful morning celebrating with family and friends. The girls ran around, had another egg hunt, more chocolate, an egg and spoon race and bubbles. The adults had yummy food (including some cupcakes and cookies from Tastee Treats 4U), chocolate....and bubbles (of the adult variety)!
Later that afternoon we went to celebrate our nephew's 6th birthday. The kids had another egg hunt. And there was more food - and chocolate. So, all in all a perfect weekend.
